Red Pass

RED PASS, 63 km west of Jasper, AB, at the west end of Moose Lk in the ROCKY MTS, is a junction point on the CNR. In the 1920s it developed as a small hunting and FISHING centre with a hotel and school, and a police station that later served as headquarters for Mt ROBSON PROVINCIAL PARK. A camp of Japanese Canadian internees (see JAPANESE, RELOCATION OF) was based here during WWII. Red Pass was later abandoned.
