REGENT COLLEGE is a school of theology at UBC, established in 1968 with the backing of the Plymouth Brethren. In 1980 the school entered into a co-operative arrangement with Carey Hall, a seminary overseen by the Baptist Union of Western Canada; Regent College was established as an evangelical alternative to Canada's largest Baptist college, the Baptist McMaster Divinity School in Ontario.
