RITCHIE BROS AUCTIONEERS is the world's largest auctioneer of industrial equipment. Now based in Burnaby, it was founded in KELOWNA in 1958 by Dave Ritchie and his brothers John and Ken, both of whom later retired. In 2014 it sold more than $4.2 billion (US) worth of merchandise at 350 auctions and online. Since 1998 it has been listed on the NY Stock Exchange and operates auction houses around the world.
