ROBINSON, Harry, rancher, storyteller (b 8 Oct 1900, Oyama; d 25 Jan 1990, Keremeos). A member of the OKANAGAN First Nation, he grew up in the Similkameen Valley near KEREMEOS, where he heard the stories told by his grandmother and other community elders. As a teenager he worked as a ranch hand around the southern Interior. In 1924 he married Matilda Johnny and the couple acquired a small ranch of their own at Chopaka near Keremeos.
