ROOSVILLE, a customs post and border settlement 80 km southeast of CRANBROOK, was named after Fred Roo, the first postmaster, who settled here about 1899 and built a store and hotel. It is at the southern edge of the KTUNAXA (Kutenai) Tobacco Plains RESERVE.
