Ryder Lake

RYDER LAKE, 8 km southeast of CHILLIWACK on the slopes of Elk Mt, is a farming (see AGRICULTURE) and LOGGING settlement in the FRASER VALLEY. It was named after John Ryder, who homesteaded at Cheam in 1868, then moved here and established an orchard (see TREE FRUITS).
