SAND DOLLAR is a member of the class Echinoidea in the phylum Echinodermata, a group of spiny-skinned animals that includes the SEA URCHIN. The eccentric sand dollar (Dendraster excentricus) is a disc-shaped marine animal about 10 cm across, inhabiting sand beaches along the Pacific shoreline.
