SCHOFIELD, Wilf, botanist (b 19 July 1927, NS; d 5 Nov 2008, Vancouver). He worked as a schoolteacher in Nova Scotia during the 1940s and 1950s while pursuing academic studies at Acadia Univ. After earning an MA from Stanford Univ in 1956 and a PhD from Duke Univ in 1960, he came to BC to teach in the botany department at UBC.
