SCOTT, Jack, journalist (b 1916, Vancouver; d 22 Jan 1980, Saltspring Island). He began his NEWSPAPER career as a 15-year-old copy boy in the offices of the VANCOUVER News-Herald. He became a reporter and editor and in 1940 began writing his daily "Our Town" column. After a stint in the army during WWII he joined the VANCOUVER SUN and resumed his column.
