SCULPIN is a member of the Cottidae family of fish, with approximately 40 local species, including the sculpin, Irish lord and cabezon. Adult sculpin are bottom dwellers and live in boreal and temperate waters of the northern hemisphere. A sculpin has a large spiny head with eyes placed high on the skull. In some species, the uppermost preopercular spine has developed into a long horn-like structure. Many species have no scales at all, while others have a few scales that form thick plates....
