SHANTYMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (SCA) was a Toronto missionary organization formed in 1914 to evangelize the LOGGING camps in northern Ontario. Backed by the VANCOUVER businessman R.W. Sharpe, it spread to BC in 1919 when a missionary was brought in to minister to a logging camp north of Vancouver.
