SICAMOUS is a 61-m steamboat preserved as a historic site on the PENTICTON beachfront. It was launched in 1914 by the CPR to carry passengers and freight between Penticton and the railhead at OKANAGAN LANDING. The majestic steel-hulled sternwheeler plied the lake for a quarter of a century until improved rail and road communications forced its retirement in 1937.
