SLADE, Michael, was originally the pen name for a trio of VANCOUVER lawyers, John Banks, Richard Covell and Jay Clarke, who in 1987 began publishing a series of highly popular thrillers featuring the fictional RCMP Chief Superintendent Robert DeClercq.
