SMITH, Bev, basketball player (b 4 Apr 1960, Armstrong). Raised in SALMON ARM, she won a BASKETBALL scholarship to the Univ of Oregon. She smashed all Oregon scoring records and was named the top defender in college basketball by Sports Illustrated. A 2-time all-American, she was runner-up in voting for top player in the US.
