Squilax

SQUILAX is a SECWEPEMC community 8 km east of CHASE on Little Shuswap Lk. The name means "black BEAR" in the Secwepemc language. It has gained fame as the site of the largest colony of Yuma BATS in BC. Quaaout Lodge is a Native-run resort and a large powwow takes place every July.
