STANLEY CUP RIOT, 14 June 1994, was one of the worst sports riots in Canadian history and the largest instance of public unruliness seen in VANCOUVER. The VANCOUVER CANUCKS HOCKEY team had made an incredible run in the Stanley Cup playoffs and that night in New York had lost the seventh game of the final series to the Rangers 3–2.
