STEVENS, Henry Herbert, politician (b 8 Dec 1878, Bristol, England; d 14 June 1973 Vancouver). He came to Canada with his widowed father in 1887, settling first in Ontario. The family came west to VERNON in 1894; after working at various jobs and serving briefly with the US Army in the Far East, Stevens settled permanently in VANCOUVER in 1902.
