STORM-PETREL is a small, pelagic seabird (14–25 cm long), usually black or grey in colour with a white rear. Known as the "sea swallow," it feeds on small fish and crustaceans and is distinctive for its habit of fluttering above the ocean surface, appearing to be walking on water like St Peter.
