STRACHAN, Robert Martin "Bob," carpenter, politician (b 1 Dec 1913, Glasgow, Scotland; d 21 July 1981, Victoria). He came to Canada in 1931, moved across the West looking for work and ended up in BC in 1935. A carpenter by profession, he made his home in NANAIMO and was at one time provincial leader of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners.
