STRAWBERRY HILL, an AGRICULTURAL settlement 7 km southeast of NEW WESTMINSTER in the City of SURREY, was settled by Japanese BERRY farmers in the early 1900s. Most were interned during WWII and did not return to their farms (see JAPANESE, RELOCATION OF). By the late 20th century the area had become mostly residential.
