SZCZAWINSKI, Adam F., botanist (b 21 Oct 1913, Lwow, Poland). A graduate of the Univ of Lwow, he worked there as a botany instructor until WWII began, then enlisted in the Polish army. For a time he served as director of education for the Polish air force, and from 1944 to 1946 he was a flight lieutenant in the Royal Air Force. When the war ended he immigrated to Canada.
