Tagish


TAGISH are a small group of FIRST NATIONS people who lived in the mountainous region around Tagish Lk in northeast BC and the southern Yukon on the headwaters of the Yukon R. They were hunters and fishers who lived in small family groups following a migratory seasonal cycle. They had extensive trading relations with their southern neighbours, the TLINGIT, and adopted the Tlingit language and aspects of their social organization.
