TRAPP LAKE, a farming settlement 25 km south of KAMLOOPS, was named after Thomas J. Trapp, who first ranched here in 1874 with his partner William R. McDonald. Trapp later ran pack trains for CPR surveyors and became a successful hardware merchant in NEW WESTMINSTER.
