VALLANCE, Jim, songwriter, record producer (b 1952, Chilliwack). After studying at the UBC School of Music in the early 1970s, he and Bruce FAIRBAIRN formed a rhythm & blues/funk/JAZZ ensemble, Sunshyne. By 1976 Sunshyne had evolved into PRISM, which released a self-titled album in 1977 that featured the songwriting and drumming of Rodney Higgs, a pseudonym adopted by Vallance to conceal his rock 'n' roll involvement from his music school colleagues.
