WALKER, Larry, baseball player (b 1 Dec 1966, Maple Ridge). The best player BC has produced, he joined the Montreal Expos organization in 1984. The National League club called him up from the minors in 1989 and he played in Montreal until signing with the Colorado Rockies in 1995. After missing most of the 1996 season due to injury he turned in an all-star year in 1997, leading the NL in home runs (49), finishing 2nd in batting average (.366), runs scored and total hits, and 3rd in runs batted...
