WALLACE, Ian, artist (b 25 Aug 1943, Shoreham, England). He was born to Canadian parents who brought him to Canada as a baby. He has lived in VANCOUVER since 1952. A graduate of UBC with an MA (1968), he is known for his conceptual art, large-scale photographic murals and paintings. Also an influential art critic and lecturer, he taught at UBC from 1967 to 1970, then joined the faculty at the EMILY CARR INSTITUTE OF ART & DESIGN in 1972.
