WILSON, Ruth (Plant), athlete (b 27 Apr 1919, Calgary; d 29 Oct 2001, Vancouver). A top BC all-around athlete, she excelled in BASKETBALL, softball, GOLF and TENNIS. She arrived in VANCOUVER at an early age and as a junior was a champion tennis player at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis Club. Active in sports while attending UBC, she continued her athletics with the Vancouver Hedlunds basketball and BASEBALL teams. She coached and played on 4 straight national basketball championship teams...
