WILSON, Ruth (Plant), athlete (b 27 Apr 1919, Calgary; d 29 Oct 2001, Vancouver). A top BC all-around athlete, she excelled in BASKETBALL, softball, GOLF and TENNIS. She arrived in VANCOUVER at an early age and as a junior was a champion tennis player at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis Club. Active in sports while attending UBC, she continued her athletics with the Vancouver Hedlunds basketball and BASEBALL teams.
