Wonowon

WONOWON  () is located on the ALASKA HWY at Historic Mile 101, hence the name. Originally called Blueberry after nearby BLUEBERRY R, it offers services for travellers and is the gateway to a vast recreational wilderness. LOGGING, the CATTLE INDUSTRY and oil (see OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY) are also important to the area. It was the site of a military control gate in WWII.
