WRIGHT, Gustavus Blinn, merchant, road builder (b 22 June 1830, Burlington, VT; d 8 Apr 1898, Ainsworth). He arrived in BC from California in 1858 during the FRASER R GOLD RUSH, but instead of prospecting he got involved in the transport business and was soon the most important packer on the DOUGLAS TRAIL.
