YENNADON, a farming and LOGGING settlement 38 km east of VANCOUVER in the FRASER VALLEY, was first settled by Samuel Edge in 1875. Many JAPANESE families moved here in the 1930s and grew strawberries (see BERRIES). An EQUESTRIAN centre is located here and a university research FOREST is nearby. It was named in 1911 for a place in Devon, England.
