Acland Rock

Acland Rock (49˚39'00" 124˚09'00" E side of Malaspina Str, S of Nelson I). Pilot Officer Ion Hugh Acland of the RCAF, from Saltspring I, was killed on active service Mar 18, 1941, aged 26. Prior to enlisting, he had been a seaman aboard Canadian survey vessel William J Stewart. Acland is buried at Andover Cemetery, Hampshire, UK.
