Agamemnon Bay


Agamemnon Bay (49˚45'00" 123˚59'00" N end of Agamemnon Channel), Agamemnon Channel (49˚42'00" 124˚04'00" Between Nelson I and Sechelt Peninsula, SE of Powell R, NW of Vancouver). HMS Agamemnon was the first ship of the line commanded by British naval hero Adm Lord Nelson. The 64-gun vessel was launched in 1781 and took part in the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar, but ran aground in 1809 at the River Plate in Uruguay and was destroyed.
