Ainslie Point

Ainslie Point (48˚45'44" 123˚15'16" W side of S Pender I, Gulf Is). Gilbert Herbert Ainslie (b 1861) immigrated to Canada from England in 1895 and pre-empted land at Winter Cove on Saturna I in 1896. In 1900, after being issued a Crown grant, he sold his property and moved to S Pender I. He is noted for persuading the navy to help dismantle his log home on Saturna and reassemble it on S Pender—a project that was accomplished in a mere 36 hours.
