Alexander Islands


Alexander Islands (52˚57'22" 129˚18'30" Off S tip of Campania I, Caamaño Sd). David Alexander was born in Australia of Scottish descent, immigrated with his wife and children to Cowichan Bay in 1862 and settled on the E side of Somenos Lk on a homestead known as Oak Bank Farm. The Alexanders were well-known pioneers in the district, and David, who retired to Duncan, is believed to have been a participant at the Victoria old-timers’ reunion of 1924 (see Adams Bay).
