Allies Island

Allies Island (50˚12'00" 124˚48'00" In Waddington Channel between E Redonda I and W Redonda I, NE of Campbell R). Originally known by the name Prussian I, which can be found on pre-WWI charts and was in local use until at least the 1960s. Prussian I was officially changed to Allies I sometime during WWI, probably as a result of patriotic pressure. The first appearance of the new name was on a chart dated 1919.
