Alliford Bay


Alliford Bay (53˚12'15" 131˚59'30" SE side of Skidegate Inlet, NE Moresby I, QCI). William Alliford was quartermaster on the HBC steamship Beaver after it was hired as a survey vessel by the RN in 1863. He was coxswain of the ship’s boat used to sound this bay during the survey of Skidegate Inlet in 1866, and Lt Daniel Pender named it after him.
