Augustus Point


Augustus Point (48 ̊57'00" 123 ̊39'00" S side of Kuper I, E of Chemainus, Gulf Is), Augustus Rock (53 ̊00'00" 132 ̊23'00" Off W side of Hibben I, NW Moresby I, QCI). Capt Augustus L Kuper surveyed the NW coast of Moresby I aboard HMS Thetis in 1852, and named Augustus Rk at that time. Cdr John Parry, of the survey vessel Egeria, named Augustus Point after Kuper in 1905. See Cape Kuper.
