Barge Point

Barge Point (53˚02'00" 131˚57'00" S entrance to Gillatt Arm, Cumshewa Inlet, NE Moresby I, QCI). John L Barge, a carpenter, was lured to Haida Gwaii in 1908 by newspaper advertisements and settled, with his family, at Queen Charlotte City. He contributed much to the community, serving at various times as government agent, mining recorder, road superintendent and undertaker. Named by regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau in 1926. D
