Barnard Harbour

Barnard Harbour (53˚05'00" 129˚07'00" NW side of Princess Royal I, S end of Whale Channel). Francis Jones Barnard (1829–89), from Quebec City, married Ellen Stillman in 1853 and came to BC for the 1859 gold rush. He and his family settled at Yale, and Barnard began carrying mail—by foot at first—to the Cariboo.
