Beard Islands (51˚59'00" 128˚16'00" In Queens Sd, NW of Hunter I, S of Bella Bella). Named in 1944 after Cdr Charles Taschereau Beard (1890–1950), who was born at Ottawa and began his long naval career, during which he served on 30 different ships, in Britain.
