Belvedere Rock (49˚20'00" 122˚53'00" N of Bedwell Bay, E side of Indian Arm, NE of Vancouver). The rock is in Farrer Cove (qv), just off Belvedere Landing, one of the many summer recreation areas on Indian Arm that used to be served by vessels of the Harbour Navigation Co. A belvedere, from the Italian for “beautiful view,” is a lookout tower on the roof of a building. The name was suggested by the hydrographic service and adopted in 1948.
