Benrot Island

Benrot Island (52˚21'20" 127˚43'25" NW side of Cousins Inlet, W of Ocean Falls). Capt J Benrot worked as a ship’s master for the HBC and was also a pilot at Nanaimo. The names Price I and Finmore I (after Walter Finmore, a storekeeper at Esquimalt dockyard) had originally been suggested for this feature, but Benrot I was chosen by the hydrographic service in 1925.
