Binns Island

Binns Island (49˚20'00" 125˚57'00" E side of Herbert Inlet, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Charles Carlyle “Cap” Binns (1873–1939), a pioneer prospector on the W coast of Vancouver I, was listed as a farmer on the 1898 BC voters list. He was the original discoverer of placer gold in the beach sand at Florencia Bay, near Tofino, in the late 1890s.
