Bishop Bay


Bishop Bay (53˚28'00" 128˚53'00" Extends NE from Ursula Channel, E of Gribbell I, N of Princess Royal I, S of Kitimat). According to anthropologist Jay Powell, this bay is known to the Haisla First Nation as Giltu’yis (pronounced GILL-tsoo-weez), meaning “long inlet.” Gilttoyees Inlet (qv) has the same Haisla name.
