Bland Island

Bland Island (50˚30'00" 127˚40'00" W of Brockton I, Buchholz Channel, Quatsino Sd, NW side of Vancouver I). Named by the hydrographic service in 1927 to commemorate the Bland family. Charles Loftus Bland (1882–1973), a native of Jersey in the Channel Is, spent more than 65 years on Quatsino Sd. He homesteaded on the S side of the sound, near Kewquodie Ck, in 1907, and with his second wife, Mary, raised five children there.
