Boas Islet


Boas Islet (51˚41'00" 128˚05'00" N end of Kwakshua Channel, between Hecate I and Calvert I, S of Bella Bella). Franz Boas (1858–1942), a German-born geographer, was so intrigued by a Nuxalk First Nation group from Bella Coola, which visited Germany in 1885, that he became an anthropologist instead.
