Brew Island (52˚57'00" 128˚40'00" Head of Laredo Inlet, Princess Royal I). Chartres Brew (1815–70), a veteran of the Crimean War and former inspector in the Royal Irish Constabulary at Cork, Ireland, was appointed the first inspector of police in the new colony of BC in 1858.
