Brittain River


Brittain River (50˚00'00" 124˚01'00" Flows SE into Princess Royal Reach, Jervis Inlet, E of Powell R). Named in 1922 after Rowland Brittain (1857–1926), BC’s first patent attorney, who owned land at the mouth of the river in 1901–2. He was born in England and immigrated to Victoria in 1888, moving to Vancouver about a decade later.
