Browne Rock (50˚44'00" 126˚34'00" S of Baker I, E end of Queen Charlotte Str). Lt Rodney James Browne, from W Vancouver, was killed in action June 16, 1942, aged 32, while serving with the RCNVR aboard the British light cruiser Hermione, which was torpedoed by a German submarine in the Mediterranean and sank, with the loss of 87 lives. He is buried at the Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery in Egypt.
