Burnett Bay (51˚07'00" 127˚41'00" NW of Bramham I, NW side of Queen Charlotte Str). Stoker John Henry Burnett, from Victoria, was killed in action Oct 22, 1940, aged 20, while serving aboard HMCS Margaree. The RCN destroyer sank in the N Atlantic while on convoy escort duty after colliding with the freighter Port Fairy; 142 crew members were lost with the ship. Burnett’s name is inscribed on the Halifax Memorial.
